Description

This position requires skillful application of reservoir engineering, petroleum engineering and project evaluation skills. Works collaboratively with Basin Teams and partners to evaluate reservoir performance and optimize development and depletion plans for assigned areas. Utilizes appropriate risking techniques and economic analyses to optimize the quality of investments.

Required Skills:

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.  Must have  six years work experience as a Petroleum/Reservoir Engineer; OR  a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering or Business with four years experience working as a Petroleum/Reservoir Engineer in the oil and gas industry.  Must have strong computer-based data management and analysis skills.  Must have significant experience evaluating a variety of oil and gas projects including basic production forecasting and economics, expense evaluation, and sensitivity evaluation.  Must have experience running Aires software (or equivalent) and using analysis software programs to manage a large corporate data base of analyses. Must have a good technical background in advanced reservoir engineering principles including decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, petrophysical analysis, knowledge of reservoir modeling/simulation, and a good understanding of geology.  Must have solid command of petroleum engineering concepts including reservoir properties, reservoir drive mechanisms, reservoir testing, and basic production techniques.  Must have a solid understanding of reserve booking using SEC guidelines.  Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.  Must have basic understanding of risk evaluation techniques and risked economics.  Must be able to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced work environment and be able to simultaneously manage and complete multiple projects.  Must have a willingness to assist others, learn new skills, and participate in a productive team oriented environment.  Must have valid driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable under the RWPC vehicle insurance policy.  Must pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal history background check.
